Quartz Ramming Mass is combined with silicon dioxide, or silica, SiO2. This basal component of igneous as well as metamorphic rocks has a specific luster of its own. Some specimens of this mass is transparent whereas some are translucent. In its pure form, it is colorless. It exhibits a property known as the piezoelectric effect. Capable to make an electric voltage when controlled along definite directions of the crystal, Quartz Ramming Mass can also rotate the plane of modified light.
